So, now that all that leftover turkey's finally been finished off, we can look forward our next turkey feast, which is probably coming soon.

We think of Scampers as a warm and cozy landing place where your pooches can hang out with good friends. We like to believe your pooches think of Scampers the same way...

Scampers Technology Shift!

We are very excited to announce that we have completed the migration of the administration of our client accounts for daycare and boarding services to an online petcare industry management service, GingrApp.

This app gives you the option to manage your pooches' Scampers accounts through personalized password-protected identities within the Scampers portal, make your reservations for daycare and boarding, monitor and update your pooches' vaccination status, and track the usage of your daycare packages, and more.

Whether you use the Gingr App portal is entirely up to you - you can choose to use any, all, or none of its features. We are always happy to take your questions, requests, instructions, and updates via telephone, email, or face-to-face.

A special note to our Microsoft Explorer or Microsoft Edge users – we are very sorry but the scuttlebutt is that this app does not work at all well on these browsers (it’ll break), but it does work very well on Google Chrome or Firefox.

By day's end, we will send you an email, sent through GingrApp, inviting you to log in and set up your password.

Pooch need a spruce up?

Chris Sugarbaker of Cut-N-Run, mobile groomer extraordinaire will make his next visit to Scampers on Tuesday, December 8th.

His schedule really does fill up often, and while we'll try to squeeze everyone in, please make sure to get your request in early if your dog needs a spruce-up.

Did you know?

We have already seen some icy sidewalks this year!

Rock salt and commercial de-icers sprinkled on sidewalks can irritate your pooches’ paws, causing extra licking.

Wiping paws with a damp towel after walks can remove salts and ice crystals and prevent ingestion of chemicals. Plus, your carpets will stay holiday-guest ready! If your pet does ingest de-icers, call your local vet or the ASPCA poison control hotline 888-426-4435 for assistance.

(Note that the ASPCA hotline may charge a $65 consultation fee, while your vet’s office will usually offer free advice).

Friday Funny

Every once in a while we come across a dog-oriented joke.

Today's Funny celebrates Scampers' new kennel management software system. I wonder, do many of us feel this way when faced with technology.

Watch for the updates of our framed Friday Funny in our reception area.

We'll also make sure they're posted on our Facebook page so you can share them with your friends.

Heard 'round the water bowl

We're a pretty close knit group of pooches - we form strong friendships, and we get to know each other very well. When we new pooches join us, we love to introduce them around and get them started in their Scampering adventures - that's why they call us the "Welcome Waggin".

It's been a couple of weeks since our last report, and even with the holiday in the middle of it, we've been able to welcome a couple of great new additions.

Pirate arrived early on the pre-Thanksgiving Monday morning, and made friends with a bunch of Littles - he's quite social and enjoyed his day quite thoroughly.

Sherman and Mooshi decided to give us a try on Tuesday and found the comings and goings to be fun and fascinating.

This week, we welcomed Logan and Ziggy Spaniel to the roster, and both found plenty of playmates to keep them entertained - that was our plan all along!

Hey, Peeps, don't forget, if you're curious about how we spend our days and you're not quite sure what those report cards really mean, you can watch the adventures in the photos and videos our wranglers are posting on the Scampers Facebook page.

There's also a ScampersDogs channel on YouTube where you'll find all kinds of fun videos, and we update that selection periodically.

Scampers Boarding Facility

Our boarding facility has very been busy this year. Some weekends have found our facility absolutely full to the brim with happy campers!

Remember to get your boarding requests in early to make sure there's room enough for your pooches. We are already full for the Thanksgiving holidays, and expect to be as busy for the Christmas holidays as well.

Samson is a frequent Scampers boarder. Here he is greeting the morning staff with his great big grin!

This is Gunde, relaxing during her recent weekend with us. Gunde used to be a regular camper and we've missed her wily sense of humor, so we're glad she still comes to board once in a while.

Sibling Berner-Golden mix pups Nox and Oris found a nice spot for a mid-day nap - boarding is tiring work for these active and mischievous pups.

Pretty Abby G is a very helpful pooch indeed. This lovely picture shows her effort at helping to unpack mysterious things at the office.

Canine Nosework Classes at Scampers

Dogs have an incredible sense of smell and an inborn desire to hunt. The sport of K9 Nose Work is designed to develop the natural scenting abilities of your dog by using their passion for hunting and their love of toys, food and exercise.

It's a great class for your dog to have fun, build confidence, and burn lots of mental and physical energy and you get to find out just how good your dog's nose is.
