We’re so proud of our Redmond Relay Runners! The fifteen-member team of fifteen-year-olds almost doubled their goal of $2,000 in donations for The American Cancer Society in their first time out at the Relay for Life at Redmond High School.
As well as being the youngest team at this event, the Redmond Relay Runners team was also recognized by the event organizers as the Best New Team for achieving Bronze Team Fundraising level and finishing in the top 10 of the 29 teams in this year’s event. In addition to sponsorships, team members raised funds by baking dog treats for sale at Scampers, selling donuts at their school, and providing facepainting and henna body art at the relay. Team members placed luminaria in memory of loved ones lost and honoring others who are achieving victories over cancer. Two members of the team walked a full marathon – 100 laps of the track!
Five members of the Redmond Relay Runners – Elaine Wang (Team Captain), Sarah Hughes, Katrina Andersen, Blake Roberts and Hannah Parish – are the Scampers Clean Up Crew, diligently vacuuming and mopping up every inch of Scampers 5,000 square feet of floor space each night. The teens are working to fund their school trip later this month – they’ll be winging off to Europe for a whirlwind two week tour of France, Italy and Spain.
We at Scampers are so very proud of their accomplishment, and so proud to have been their sponsors.Scampers proudly sponsored the Redmond Relay Runners
