Dear Scampers People –
This week has kept us hopping – both with new dogs and returning dogs – and the constantly changing weather has been keeping us all guessing, at all times. We’re so happy that during daylight hours we are still enjoying clear skies and can bring the dogs outside to enjoy much of their day in fresh air. We’ll keep this up as long as we can.
Pooch of the Month – Halloween – Ewok Victorious!
While we had a great collection of Halloween costumed pooches submit their entries, Greta Gonzalez is our Pooch of the Month this month – Her Ewok costume was a runaway hit on our Facebook photo album. (Really, could anyone have looked more like the real thing?!)
Pooch Needs a Spruce-Up? Chris Sugarbaker of Cut-’N-Run – Next Visit is this Tuesday, November 8th
Chris will be at Scampers for a grooming visit again on Tuesday, November 8th. If your dog needs some sprucing up, be sure to claim your dog’s spot with him away – his schedule has filled up completely on more than one occasion.
Black Friday Planning
Reminder – we plan to be closed on Thanksgiving so everyone can have their turkey time; however, at this time, we plan to be open on Black Friday, the day following – IF we have enough interest from you. So far, we have had a handful of people express interest. If you plan to take advantage of those Black Friday special sales and need to drop a pooch or two off with us for a while, please do let us know by Reply email. We’ll be taking reservations, and unless you have a punch card with us, we’ll also ask for prepayment. If the population looks like it may be fewer than 15 dogs, we’ll give our staffers a nice extended holiday. They deserve it – they’re working hard!

Pawlogic’s One-on-One Private Training
Pawlogic is offering a great deal to Scampers Campers – Cathy is offering one-on-one private training for your dogs during their day at Scampers, in half hour time slots, and customized to your requirements. Your dog will come home with an itemized report card and maybe even some homework for you! You’ll also get a complimentary pass to drop in on one of the Pawlogic group classes. Pooch Health – a Cooperative Effort
Please remember your role in protecting the health of your own dog as well as all the Scampers Campers. If your dog is displaying symptoms that warrant veterinary care, please ask your veterinarian if or when return to a daycare environment is appropriate. Also, as a reminder, we maintain a policy that all Scampers campers must have current vaccinations. Please keep your dog’s vaccinations current, and ask your veterinarian to forward a copy of any updated vaccination records to Scampers via fax. Finally, please ask your vet to place your dog on a 6-month reminder cycle for bordetella (kennel cough), letting them know that your dog participates in daycare.
