Dear Scampers People –

We’re already seeing that upswing in attendance as we approach September, even while many of you are still in full vacation mode. New campers are being welcomed daily – they’re all enjoying our summer fun, splashing about with new friends in our pools – look for fresh videos and photos loaded on Facebook, Flickr and the Scampers Blog.

Pawlogic’s Inspired by the Back-To-School Season

Pawlogic is offering a great deal to Scampers Campers – Cathy is offering one-on-one private training for your dogs during their day at Scampers, in half hour time slots, and customized to your requirements. Your dog will come home with an itemized report card and maybe even some homework for you! You’ll also get a complimentary pass to drop in on one of the Pawlogic group classes. Call Cathy at 425-443-5280 to reserve your spot – there’s been a great deal of interest already, so please give her a call to make sure you get one of those slots!

Welcome Dayna

We are so pleased and excited to welcome Dayna Moncrief to the Scampers crew. Dayna brings extensive experience in the pooch world, both from working in doggy daycares and veterinary offices, and from her education. She specializes in canine holistic health, including canine nutrition and canine massage.

Pooch Needs a Spruce-Up? Chris Sugarbaker of Cut-’N-Run – Next Visit is this Tuesday, August 30th

Chris will be at Scampers for a grooming visit again on Tuesday, August 30th. If your dog needs some sprucing up or a back-to-school do, be sure to claim your dog’s spot with him right away – his schedule tends to fill up quickly.

Reminder: Back to School Season Attendance Jump

We anticipate a significant jump in attendance post Labor Day – the end of the summer holidays approaches and everyone will be returning to the nose-to-the-grindstone mode; meanwhile, our roster has been increasing steadily throughout the summer. At Scampers, capacity is dictated by both square footage and our staffing (we must maintain an appropriate ratio of dog wranglers to dogs for safety).  We believe that by October 1, 2011 it will be necessary for you to reserve space, or call ahead to see if we have room for your pooches. We’d hate to turn anyone away, ever! Remember, you can reserve space in person, by phone, by email, or through a Facebook posting.

Foursquare and FanZappy

For those of you who are into Foursquare and FanZappy, you’ll find Scampers on board now too. Don’t forget to check in!

Pooch Health – a Cooperative Effort

Please remember your role in protecting the health of your own dog as well as all the Scampers Campers. If your dog is displaying symptoms that warrant veterinary care, please ask your veterinarian if or when return to a daycare environment is appropriate.

Pooch Health, cont’d: Current Vaccination Records

Also, as a reminder, we  maintain a policy that all Scampers campers must have current vaccinations. Please keep your dog’s vaccinations current, and ask your veterinarian to forward a copy of any updated vaccination records to Scampers via fax.  Also, do ask your vet to place your dog on a 6-month reminder cycle for bordetella (kennel cough), letting them know that your dog is enrolled in a daycare situation.

Photos and Video

Whenever you have an extra few minutes, take a tour of the videos and photos in Facebook, Flickr and the Scampers Blog and see if there are any new shots of your pooch in action.
