We're having such a busy week, with lots of campers gathering for the canine companionship, the sniffing and rasslin' and general puppy fun. We actually hit maximum attendance on Tuesday. (That's a reminder: remember to get your reservations in!)

With such a huge crowd on Tuesday, we turned one of our playgroups into a Doodle Day. We gathered them all for a picture but London decided she was camera shy, and hid behind Heather.

Scampers Technology Shift!

Our new online petcare industry management service, GingrApp, is cooking along nicely. We are still finding some bumps in the transition, and we are so grateful for your patience as we find our way.

Several of our customers have already started to manage their pooches' Scampers accounts through the personalized password-protected identities, making their own reservations for daycare and boarding, and uploading pictures of their pooches.

Whether you use the Gingr App portal is entirely up to you - you can choose to use any, all, or none of its features. We are always happy to take your questions, requests, instructions, and updates via telephone, email, or face-to-face.

We have also posted a link on our Scampersdogs.com website. It is important that you use the email account we have in our customer file for you (which may or may not be the same as the account we are sending this newsletter to!) when you log in at first - that is your unique identifier within GingrApp. If you have any troubles at all, send us an email, and we'll be able to help you get going.

Pooch need a spruce up?

Chris Sugarbaker of Cut-N-Run, mobile groomer extraordinaire will make his next visit to Scampers on Tuesday, December 22nd.

His schedule really does fill up often, and while we'll try to squeeze everyone in, please make sure to get your request in early if your dog needs a spruce-up.

Pooch of the Month - December, 2015 - Congratulations, Emmie

We are please to announce that young Emmie is our latest Pooch of the Month winner! Voting was brisk, in fact, it was neck and neck between our two top vote getters, but she pulled it out in the end. Well done, Emmie!!

Did you know?

The holidays are in full swing. To ensure smooth social interactions for you, your guests, and your pets, here are a few things to keep in mind.

It’s always a good idea to ask before bringing a pet to a holiday celebration. Even if your host is an animal lover, they will appreciate the gesture! This also provides them the opportunity to puppy-proof the buffet table and decorations (tinsel, poinsettia, mistletoe, holly, gingerbread houses, etc.).
Make sure to have a quiet, safe space for pets to retire from the noise and chaos. No matter how much they love attention, extra people, pets, sounds, smells, and the change in routine can be stressful.
Your friends and family can offer your pet a walk or a play session instead of a continuous stream of treats. This is a great way to keep those excitable noses out of mischief and include pets as part of the festivities.
Make sure your house guests’ toiletries and medications are out of reach at all times. Guests without pets of their own may not be accustomed to puppy-proofing!
Keep an eye on wrapping paper, ribbons, wired bows, spare batteries, packing peanuts, plastic bags, and other gift accoutrements which might appeal to your puppy’s playful side, but be harmful if swallowed.
Relax and enjoy the holidays with your furry friends!

Friday Funny

Every once in a while we come across a dog-oriented joke.

This is for everyone who is getting into decorating for the holidays.

Heard 'round the water bowl

We're a pretty close knit group of pooches - we form strong friendships, and we get to know each other very well. When we new pooches join us, we love to introduce them around and get them started in their Scampering adventures - that's why they call us the "Welcome Waggin".

Deschutes has just moved from Oregon, and has chosen Scampers as her day's occupation. She's a smiley Black and White Beauty - a lovely amalgamation of various breeds, and she's making friends with lots of new pooches, and new wranglers, every day.

We wish speedy recovery to Sophie C, who has been through some nasty tummy troubles. We know her doctors have been taking very good care of her. At the same time, we send another Get Well Soon shout-out to Sophie's lookalike, Dexter, who has had heart surgery - we miss you, friend, and hope you're healing. Young Jacki O had an unfortunate mishap the other day and is nursing a broken foot. Poor baby! We sure hope she's feeling better and back to her fun romping self soon.

There's also a ScampersDogs channel on YouTube where you'll find all kinds of fun videos, and we update that selection periodically.

Scampers Boarding Facility

Our boarding facility has very been busy this year. Some weekends have found our facility absolutely full to the brim with happy campers!

Remember to get your boarding requests in early to make sure there's room enough for your pooches. We are already full for the Christmas holidays this year, but we do still have some space for the New Year's Celebration Eve.

Samson is a frequent Scampers boarder. Here he is greeting the morning staff with his great big grin!

This is Gunde, relaxing during her recent weekend with us. Gunde used to be a regular camper and we've missed her wily sense of humor, so we're glad she still comes to board once in a while.

Sibling Berner-Golden mix pups Nox and Oris found a nice spot for a mid-day nap - boarding is tiring work for these active and mischievous pups.

We have also received some great shots documenting "The Real Reason" you bring your furkids to Scampers.

Pretty Abby G is a very helpful pooch indeed. This lovely picture shows her effort at helping to unpack mysterious things at the office.

Canine Nosework Classes at Scampers

Dogs have an incredible sense of smell and an inborn desire to hunt. The sport of K9 Nose Work is designed to develop the natural scenting abilities of your dog by using their passion for hunting and their love of toys, food and exercise.

It's a great class for your dog to have fun, build confidence, and burn lots of mental and physical energy and you get to find out just how good your dog's nose is.
