Dear Scampers People –
Between your referrals and our day with Go Dog, Go!, we’ve been meeting, greeting and introducing new dogs to the Scampers pack all week, all the while making new friends – a happy little bonus! (Dog people are so cool!) What a coincidence that three of our newbies are Golden Doodles, too – they have such lovely and lively personalities, it’s no wonder they’re such a popular breed. They’ve been enjoying meeting each other, as well as all the other Scampers campers, and a good time is had by all – as evidenced by the photos and videos already on Facebook (and more to come as soon as time allows).
Go Dog, Go!
Go Dog, Go! was attended by close to 3,000 people this year, despite the change of venue and delay in new venue construction. Everyone who attended clearly enjoyed the day of sun and fun and canine celebration. According to Stina and Cathy, it felt like all 3,000 people came to visit our booth too, along with a lot of our current Scampers friends. We have already welcomed several new pooches to the Scampers pack this week as a direct result of our participation at Go Dog, Go. Definitely a rocking success of a day for all – Congratulations and special thanks to the hard-working organizers and volunteers who put a terrific day together! Congratulations also to raffle winners Terry McGlothlin and Moxie, Becky Goodwin and Maggie, Connie Anderson and Bailey, Luann Meyers and Wyatt, Darcy Thayer and Oliver, Carol Hummel and Scout, Brad Hixenbaugh and Naia. We’ll be meeting the winner and Honorable Mention recipients of the Scampers-sponsored Look Alike Contest next week.
Paint the Town Purple Winners to be announced next week
We’ll be announcing the winners of our Paint the Town Purple! contest in next week’s email too. Be sure to tune in.
Pooch Needs a Spruce-Up? Chris Sugarbaker of Cut-’N-Run – Next Visit is this Tuesday, August 2nd
Chris will be at Scampers for a grooming visit again on Tuesday, August 2nd. If your dog needs some sprucing up or a summer cut, be sure to claim your dog’s spot with him right away – his schedule tends to fill up quickly.
Pooch Health – a Cooperative Effort
Please remember your role in protecting the health of your own dog as well as all the Scampers Campers. If your dog is displaying symptoms that warrant veterinary care, please ask your veterinarian if or when return to a daycare environment is appropriate.
Pooch Health, cont’d: Current Vaccination Records
Also, as a reminder, we maintain a policy that all Scampers campers must have current vaccinations. Please keep your dog’s vaccinations current, and ask your veterinarian to forward a copy of any updated vaccination records to Scampers via fax.
Pawlogic One-Day Seminars
Pawlogic is offering one-day seminars throughout the summer months that emphasize important training cues. Pencil these dates in: August 13th – Loose Leash Walking, and August 27th – Coffee Shop Etiquette. Seminars have limited space, and Cathy has announced extra sessions to accommodate the volume of responses. Call her to reserve your spot.
Photos and Video
Whenever you have an extra few minutes, take a tour of the videos and photos in Facebook, Flickr and the Scampers Blog and see if there are any new shots of your pooch in action.
