What a wild week we’ve had! We hit another record for attendance on Tuesday – and today is one of our highest attendance Fridays in our history. We’re having a ball, and the dogs are loving the fun party too.

Go Dog, Go –
Tomorrow, Saturday, July 28th, Juanita Beach Park

You Gotta Go: Go Dog, Go! July 28, at Juanita Beach Park

Scampers is sponsoring Go Dog, Go! again this year. This fun festival is truly not to be missed for Dog People – lots of fun and interesting things to do and see, and lots and lots of dogs! Look for the Scampers Daycamp for Dogs tent – we’ll be there with bells (and sunblock!) on!

Spare Bones Month
Spare change? Spare bucks? For the month of July, we’ll be collecting donations for Homeward Pet in the pretty canister at our front desk. We’re off to a good start already, but more will most certainly do more for them! Donations can also take the form of spare food or useful items…

Don’t forget, they need volunteers too. If you know someone who’d love to have some pooch or kitty cuddle time on a part-time basis, Homeward Pet can always use their help too!

Pooch need a spruce-up?
We offer grooming services – from a simple mani-pedi to a full groom – every second Tuesday through Cut-N-Run Mobile Grooming. Chris Sugarbaker, Cut-N-Run’s groomer-in-chief, has over 20 years’ experience and will work with you to ensure your satisfaction.

Chris’ next visit to Scampers is Tuesday, August 7th.

Be sure to claim your dog’s spot with Chris right away – his schedule has filled up completely on more than one occasion, and we’ve had to disappoint some of our clients.

124th Street – Steet Overlay
Coming Soon

We have received a notice that the City of Kirkland will soon be repaving 124th Street from 124th Avenue to Slater Avenue. Joy!

Typical hours of work will be between 7 am and 6 pm, as well as some “night work”.

We hope this will not be too disruptive to your commute, but we’re sure they’ll help you find your way to us.

Heard ‘Round the Water Bowl
We’re excited to be adding new personalities each week. Our freqent campers are doing their best to make them feel welcome.
Here’s the scoop, from gossip heard ’round the water bowl:

“Brandy and Beijing are a nice pair, don’t you think? We should invite them to join our “Fun in the Sun” group so they can meet more of our campers.”

“That’s a great idea! And Luke and Missy would be great additions to the Poker Club – they have already made friends with half the group!”

“Did you spot that cute little guy, Leroy? He’s probably another good candidate for the Poker Club – he has some great attitude!”

Pawlogic News

Scampers Boarding and Weekends
Well, it looks like you are finding our boarding offering useful – in fact, this weekend, our suites are all booked up!

The weekend daycampers enjoy playing with the boarders, as they’re all good friends already! We set up our weekend daycamp in our back room as we can have our garage door open, and pooches enjoy the free flow indoors and outdoors.

Please remember that weekend visits are full day only, and require advance booking. We open our doors from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. for check-in, and again from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. for check-out, so we don’t interrupt Cathy’s Pawlogic Training sessions.

Comings and Goings – Changes with Scampers Staff

We’re bidding Angela Murfin “adieu”, as she heads back to Florida to finish her studies to become a veterinarian. We know she’ll study hard so she can come back to the PNW to serve you!

We welcome two new staffers, Josie and Steven, both well trained in pack management, and both have already befriended all your pooches. They’re a great addition to our team. (And did we ever introduce Sarah?)

We’re so lucky to be able to find all the best dog wranglers in the region! They work so well together – a great team, indeed!

Do come by our booth at Go, Dog, Go! We’d love to see you there. In any case, have a wonderful weekend!
Very best regards,

Linda Olsen and Stina Hughes
