Dear Scampers People –

It looks like we may have turned the corner on winter. The days are lasting a little longer and the sunshine and blue skies have been making occasional appearances. When we have weather like this, your pooches love to run around outside and then tumble back indoors to settle down for a little snooze all cuddled together in the warm patches the sunshine leaves on our black rubber floor.

Pooch of the Month – February, 2012 – Voting Now Open

Visit Scampers Facebook page to have a look at our photo selection for February’s Pooch of the Month. To vote, open up your favorite photo(s) and click on “Like”. (If your dog’s photo is one of the candidates, be sure to have your friends come and vote too!)

Did you know? Flea Season is 12 Months of the Year

Fleas love it here in the Pacific Northwest – their season lasts all year long! Be sure to keep your dog’s flea protection program going, even in these colder winter months. Fleas seek out nice warm habitats, and their favorite by far is nestled nicely in a nice warm dog’s coat.

Pooch Health – a Cooperative Effort

Please remember your role in protecting the health of your own dog as well as all the Scampers Campers. If your dog is displaying symptoms that warrant veterinary care, please ask your veterinarian if or when return to a daycare environment is appropriate. Also, as a reminder, we  maintain a policy that all Scampers campers must have current vaccinations. Please keep your dog’s vaccinations current, and ask your veterinarian to forward a copy of any updated vaccination records to Scampers via fax.  Finally, please ask your vet to place your dog on a 6-month reminder cycle for bordetella (kennel cough), letting them know that your dog participates in daycare.

Pawlogic’s One-on-One Private Training

Pawlogic is offering a great deal to Scampers Campers – Cathy is offering one-on-one private training for your dogs during their day at Scampers, in half hour time slots, and customized to your requirements.
